North Shields theatre and community hub, The Exchange 1856, has appointed a new finance director to support its vision to become a key cultural and business destination for North East England.
Adam Langman will be responsible for shaping the strategic financial direction of the venue, as well as all financial control and management. Adam comes to The Exchange 1856 with an impeccable pedigree having held senior positions at some of the region's most well-known companies. Adam began his financial career at KPMG where he remained for ten years before moving to a local leisure group as finance director and then onto a range of property development firms in senior financial roles.
At The Exchange 1856, Adam will be working alongside managing director, Stuart Egan, to help establish the venue as a key cultural facility for North Tyneside and a place where businesses thrive.
Adam joins the Exchange 1856 at an exciting time. The building is currently undergoing a major seven-figure renovation to transform it back to its former glory and create a world-class hub for entertainment, community, food, business, and health and wellbeing. As a central element of North Tyneside’s new Cultural Quarter, The Exchange 1856 will help to bring people into the area, generating meaningful economic and social benefits for North Shields and beyond.
Adam Langman said: “It’s an enormously exciting time to be joining The Exchange 1856. Huge investment is going into the venue to create a unique, cultural ecosystem for the benefit of the people of North Tyneside.
“The community element of what we are trying to do here is extremely important to me as I’m passionate about contributing to my local area and giving back. It’s a great honour to be able to help shape the future of this stunning, unique cultural asset and ensure it enriches the lives of the local community now and for future generations.”
Managing Director, Stuart Egan, said: “We are delighted to welcome Adam to the senior management team at The Exchange 1856. He is extremely well known and well respected within the financial sector and will be an enormous asset to us moving forward. We are very much looking forward to benefitting from his proven financial acumen, drive and energy.”
